Sales overview
The Home screen โ products, cart, tabs, and the full ring-up flow
Overview
The Home screen is where every sale happens on the iPad. It's split into three areas: the product grid on the left, the cart panel on the right, and the tab and customer selectors in the top-right header. A sale is always attached to a tab โ even a one-off walk-in is implicitly its own tab while it's being rung up.
When to use it
- Every time you ring up a customer
- Looking up a product to check price or stock during a conversation
- Parking an order mid-flow and picking it back up later
How to use it

The minimum flow for a sale:
- Open or create a tab from the header (or skip and work on an implicit tab).
- Optionally pick a customer from the header โ required for prescription products and loyalty points.
- Find a product: tap a category chip, type in Search by Name or SKU, or tap the scan icon to use the camera.
- Tap the product tile, enter a quantity, and tap Add โ the item lands in the cart.
- Tap the big green total button at the bottom of the cart to advance to the order review.
- On the review screen, apply any Discount, Additional Service, Loyalty Points, or Note, then tap Confirm Order to proceed to payment.
Tips & gotchas
- The Klu app is landscape-only on iPad โ keep the device rotated.
- Search by Name or SKU at the top matches both product names and SKUs โ the input debounces as you type.
- Tap the scan icon in the search bar to scan a product barcode with the front camera.
- Products badged with a category tag that requires a prescription will block checkout until a customer with a valid prescription is assigned.
- Each product tile shows stock status โ Out of Stock tiles are greyed out, Low Stock tiles get a warning badge.
