Add a product
Create a new product with name, price, category, image, and stock settings.

Overview
Adding a product makes it available for sale on the iPad POS and visible in your catalog. At minimum you need a name and category; price, image, SKU, and low-stock thresholds are optional but strongly recommended.
When to use it
- Stocking a new item for the first time
- Adding a new variant of an existing product family
- Setting up the catalog during initial store setup
How to use it

- Open Products and click Add Product.
- Fill the product form:
- Name (required) โ what shows on the iPad.
- Description โ optional blurb.
- Category (required) โ picks from your existing categories.
- Price โ the default price when no price strategy applies.
- Image โ upload a photo; shown in the catalog and on the iPad.
- SKU โ unique identifier for barcode scanning and reporting.
- Low-stock threshold โ Klu warns when stock drops below this.
- Strain profile type โ only for products in cannabis categories.
- Stores โ pick which branches carry this product (defaults to all).
- Click Save. The product appears in the list immediately.
Tips & gotchas
- SKU must be unique across your organization. Klu rejects duplicates.
- Price โฅ 0 โ Klu won't accept negative prices.
- If a branch is already selected in the header, that branch is preselected under Stores.
- Strain profile fields are only asked if the category is flagged as cannabis.
- Images are automatically optimized and compressed for fast loading.
