Open in dashboardProducts

Overview

Strain profiles attach cannabinoid and sensory metadata to cannabis products โ€” THC%, CBD%, CBN%, plus tags for effects (uplifting, sleepy, etc.), flavors, and terpenes. The profile shows up on the product detail page and is available for in-store conversations and future reporting.

When to use it

  • Selling cannabis flower or cannabis-adjacent products
  • Giving budtenders quick reference data at the till
  • Surfacing strain info to the iPad POS for customer conversations

How to use it

Video tutorial coming soon
  1. Open a cannabis flower product from Products.
  2. On the detail page, find the Strain Profile section and click Add Strain (or Edit if one exists).
  3. Fill the profile:
    • THC %, CBD %, CBN % โ€” decimal values.
    • Effects โ€” multi-select from a preset list (e.g., uplifting, relaxing).
    • Flavors โ€” multi-select (e.g., earthy, citrus).
    • Terpenes โ€” multi-select (e.g., myrcene, limonene).
  4. Save. The profile renders as a card on the product detail page.

Tips & gotchas

  • Strain profiles are only available for products in categories flagged as cannabis. Non-cannabis products don't show the Strain Profile section at all.
  • Cannabinoid percentages are informational โ€” Klu doesn't validate them against jurisdiction-specific limits.
  • Derivatives inherit the parent's strain profile by default, editable independently.
  • Strain data appears in Analytics -> Cannabis Flowers rollups once tagged.
