Overview
The bulk import flow turns a spreadsheet into a batch of products. Download Klu's template, fill it in Excel or Google Sheets, upload it back, and Klu creates the rows. It's the fastest way to seed a new organization or migrate from another POS.
When to use it
- Initial catalog setup (hundreds of SKUs at once)
- Migrating from another POS or a spreadsheet-based system
- Adding a supplier's full product line in one go
How to use it

- Open Products and click the Upload (upload icon) button.
- Download the template from the modal โ it has the exact column headers Klu expects.
- Fill the template in Excel or Google Sheets. Required columns: name, category. Recommended: price, SKU, low-stock threshold.
- Save as CSV or XLSX and upload the file.
- Klu validates the file and shows a summary โ number of rows it will import, any errors per row.
- Confirm. Klu creates the products and returns a toast with the count.
Tips & gotchas
- Category names must match existing categories exactly. Create any new categories first under Organization -> Categories.
- SKUs must be unique across your org. Duplicate rows in the file (or SKUs that already exist) are skipped with an error in the summary.
- Images can't be uploaded in bulk โ add them per product after import.
- If a row fails validation, only that row is skipped โ the rest still import.
- Strain profile fields are ignored in the template. Add strain profiles per product after import.
