Print a receipt
How automatic receipt printing works after a completed sale.
Overview
After a sale is paid, the iPad lands on the Print Receipt screen and auto-prints to the connected Star (or BLE/ESC-POS) printer. The cashier sees a live preview of the receipt, can send extra copies to the printer, and can retry if the first job failed.
When to use it
- Every completed sale โ the screen is reached automatically after tapping Order Paid on checkout
- Printing a second copy for the customer before moving on to the next sale
- Retrying manually when the first auto-print failed (out of paper, printer asleep, Bluetooth dropped)
How to use it
Video tutorial coming soon
- On the payment screen, tap Order Paid to finalize the sale.
- The iPad navigates to the Print Receipt screen with a preview of the receipt on the left.
- Klu automatically sends the first copy to the connected printer โ if the payment was cash, the cash drawer also opens at the same time.
- Need another copy? Tap Print Receipt on the right side โ each tap sends one more copy to the printer.
- If the auto-print failed (no paper, printer disconnected), fix the printer, then tap Print Receipt to retry.
- Tap Go Home to return to the Home screen and start the next sale.
Tips & gotchas
- The receipt layout is built for 7.2 cm thermal paper โ the default roll size for Star TSP100/TSP650 and most BLE ESC/POS printers.
- Receipt content follows the current app language (EN or TH) โ switch languages from the drawer before printing if needed.
- The header uses your organization name, branch address, and tax ID โ set those from the Dashboard Organization settings.
- If no printer is connected, Klu still lands on the Print Receipt screen with the preview โ you will not be stuck, but the print button will have nothing to send to. Pair a printer from the drawer's Printers screen to fix this.
- The screen remembers the last sale with a persistent cache โ if you navigate away and come back, the preview is still there, but auto-print does not fire a second time.
