Overview
The Categories view aggregates every sale by its category (optionally by category group), giving you a one-row-per-category breakdown of revenue, cost, profit, and volume for the selected period.
When to use it
- Seeing which product families drive the most revenue or margin
- Rolling totals up by category group (e.g., all "Cannabis Flowers" together)
- Comparing performance across branches at the category level
- Exporting a category breakdown for reporting
How to use it

- Open Sales and switch to the Categories tab.
- Set branches and a date range in the header.
- Optionally filter by cashiers or tab creators in the sub-header.
- Pick a category group to roll the list up by group, or leave unset to see every category individually.
- Sort the list (same options as the Products view) and search by name.
- Click Copy to export the visible rows as TSV.
Tips & gotchas
- Categories without sales in the date range are hidden โ not a bug, they just have nothing to show.
- If you rely on a specific grouping, set up category groups under Organization -> Categories first, then come back here.
