Delete a product
Remove a product from the catalog — permanent, with consequences.
Overview
Deleting a product removes it from the catalog, the iPad POS, and every branch. Historical sales that reference the product are preserved for the audit trail, but the product itself is gone.
When to use it
- A product was created in error and has never sold
- A discontinued SKU you no longer want cluttering the catalog
- Cleaning up a bulk import that introduced duplicates
How to use it
- Open Products.
- Find the product and open its row action menu.
- Click Delete.
- Confirm on the warning modal.
Tips & gotchas
- Role gate: only OWNER can delete products. MANAGER and below see no Delete option.
- Deletion is permanent — there's no undo. Re-creating the product gives you a new ID, not the original.
- Past sales keep their reference — invoice detail still shows the product's name and price at the time of sale.
- If you just want to stop selling a product at one branch, use Hide from the branch-specific edit instead of deleting.
- Deleting a parent product also deletes its variations and derivatives. Deleting a product still referenced by a price strategy is blocked — unlink first.
