Categories overview
The two-level structure — categories for products, groups for categories.

Overview
Organization -> Categories has two sections. Category Groups at the top (cards in a grid) bundle related categories together — e.g., a "Cannabis" group containing "Flower", "Edibles", "Concentrates". Categories below (a searchable table) are the labels actually attached to products. Every product must have a category; groups are optional.
When to use it
- Initial org setup — defining the catalog taxonomy before adding products
- Adding a new product line (new category or new group)
- Rolling up analytics and sales reports by group
How to use it
Video tutorial coming soon
- Open Categories from the sidebar.
- The top Category Groups section shows all groups as color-tagged cards.
- The bottom Categories section shows every category in a table. Use the search bar to filter by category name or group name — it filters client-side instantly, no debounce.
- Create, edit, and delete from either section's action buttons.
Tips & gotchas
- Groups and categories are linked but managed separately — deleting a group unlinks its categories (they don't get deleted).
- Some categories are system categories (e.g., Cannabis Flowers) — these can't be renamed or deleted.
- Category colors show up as badge backgrounds everywhere the category appears.
