Update name, email, or PIN for a branch staff member.

Overview

Editing updates a staff record's name, email, or PIN. Resetting the PIN is the most common action โ€” use it when a staff member forgets theirs, or periodically for security.

When to use it

  • Correcting a typo in a name or email
  • Rotating a PIN after a staff change or as a quarterly hygiene step
  • Resetting the PIN for someone who forgot theirs

How to use it

  1. Open Staff.
  2. Find the row and open the row action menu.
  3. Choose Edit (or Reset PIN for the PIN-only flow).
  4. Update the fields โ€” name, email, or PIN.
  5. Click Save โ€” the list refreshes.

Tips & gotchas

  • PIN must stay unique per branch.
  • Reset PIN is a shortcut for just the PIN field โ€” same effect as editing and changing it.
  • An admin override resets the PIN immediately; the staff member does not get logged out and will use the new PIN next time they sign in on the iPad.
  • Role changes in the edit form respect role hierarchy โ€” you can't promote someone above your own role level.
