Every cashier enters their own passcode at the start of each session
Overview
The iPad stays paired to the branch, but the app logs the user out every time it moves to the background. PINs (called "passcodes" in the app) are per-user and managed by an admin from the Dashboard. At the start of each shift or whenever returning to the app, the cashier enters their passcode on the keypad.
When to use it
- Starting a shift on an iPad that is already paired to the branch
- Resuming the app after it has been backgrounded or the iPad was locked
- Switching cashiers mid-shift without rebooting the device
How to use it
Video tutorial coming soon
- Tap the Klu app icon โ the keypad screen shows the prompt Enter Passcode.
- Tap digits on the numeric keypad to enter your passcode.
- Tap backspace to clear one digit, or long-press backspace to clear the whole passcode.
- On a correct passcode, you land on the Home screen and can start taking orders.
- On a wrong passcode, the dots shake and the header reads Invalid Passcode, please try again โ retry.
Tips & gotchas
- Moving the app to the background auto-logs you out โ this is intentional so one iPad can serve several cashiers during the day.
- Passcodes are set per team member in the Dashboard under Settings โ Team โ ask an admin to reset yours if you forget it.
- There is no lockout after repeated wrong attempts, but if you miss several times in a row it is usually faster to ask for a reset than to keep guessing.
