Scale setup
Pair a BLE scale and use real-time weight readings during sales.
Overview
Klu connects to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scales for weighing variable-price products โ typically cannabis sold by gram. Pair the scale from Device settings โ Scale. Once connected, any weight-unit product pulls its quantity directly from the scale instead of manual entry, and the weight chip stays live on the product modal until the product is added to the cart.
When to use it
- Dispensaries pricing by weight (grams, kilograms)
- Any product configured with a weight unit instead of pieces
- Replacing a scale that broke or is being swapped between iPads
How to use it

- From the login / PIN screen, tap Settings (gear icon, bottom-right).
- Tap the Scale tab at the top.
- Tap the refresh icon next to Available Devices โ Klu starts a BLE scan.
- Tap your scale in the Available Devices list. The scale moves up to Selected Device and the status flips to Connected (green check).
- (Optional) Place a known weight on the scale โ the reading is used the next time you open a weight-unit product on the sale screen.
Tips & gotchas
- Scales must be BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), not older Bluetooth Classic โ check your model's spec sheet.
- If the scale needs a PIN to pair, pair it first in iOS Settings โ Bluetooth, then discover it again here.
- The Signal: % under each device shows BLE RSSI strength โ below ~30% often means the scale is too far or the battery is low.
- If the status flips from Connected to Not Connected during a shift, tap the selected scale card to reconnect. The red X disconnects and removes it entirely.
- The scale reading auto-fills the weight field on the product modal during a sale โ manual entry still works if the scale is disconnected or the reading is zero.
