Open in dashboardCash Drawers → Devices

Overview

Disconnecting unlinks a paired iPad from this branch. The device stops receiving shifts and its card disappears from the Devices tab. Remaining cash-in-drawer is cleared as part of the disconnect — make sure to close any open shift first.

When to use it

  • Retiring an old iPad
  • Moving a device permanently to a different branch (re-pair after disconnecting)
  • Resetting a device after a sale or reassignment

How to use it

Video tutorial coming soon
  1. Open Cash Drawers -> Devices.
  2. Close any open shift on the device first — the disconnect will clear remaining cash.
  3. On the device card, open the menu and choose Disconnect.
  4. Review the confirmation — it shows the remaining cash warning.
  5. Click Confirm — the device is unlinked and the card disappears.

Tips & gotchas

  • OWNER is required.
  • The device must have no open shift — close it first.
  • Remaining cash-in-drawer is cleared — reconcile via the shift closing flow before disconnecting to keep the books straight.
  • The iPad will prompt to re-pair next time it's opened.
