Generate a prescription PDF

Produce a prescription PDF directly from the iPad using a prescriber on file.

Overview

When the patient needs a new prescription and the organization has the authority to issue one, the iPad can generate a compliant PDF right on the device. Pick the prescriber, fill in patient details and symptoms, set duration and daily dosage, and the iPad produces a filled PT33-style prescription (with Buddhist-calendar dates) and saves it to the patient profile.

The generated PDF replaces any previous prescription on the patient.

When to use it

  • In-clinic prescriber issuing a fresh prescription during the visit
  • Re-issuing after the patient's previous prescription expired
  • Replacing a lost or damaged paper prescription

How to use it

  1. Select the patient (or create a new one) and open the Prescription tab.
  2. Tap Generate Prescription โ€” the generation form opens.
  3. Pick a prescriber from the list. If they're not there, tap + Create to add one inline.
  4. Fill in prescriber address and prescriber type (medical doctor, traditional Thai doctor, dentist, pharmacist, etc.) if they aren't on file already.
  5. Enter the patient's symptoms โ€” pick from the list (chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, cancer, etc.) or choose Other and describe.
  6. Set Prescription Days (max 30) and Daily Consumption in grams (max 1 g/day).
  7. Total grams auto-calculates from days ร— daily consumption โ€” review the number at the bottom of the form.
  8. Tap Generate โ€” the iPad builds the PDF and attaches it to the patient profile. The form fields (prescription number, prescriber, days, dosage) are pre-filled back into the customer form automatically.

Tips & gotchas

  • The PDF uses the prescriber's license number and type from the Dashboard โ€” keep both accurate in Prescribers.
  • Generation limits are enforced: max 30 days, max 1 g/day. The iPad won't generate a prescription outside these bounds.
  • Customer document ID is used internally but not included in the saved file name for privacy.
  • After generation, a Signed Upload option lets you replace the generated PDF with a scanned signed version.
  • Generated PDFs are accessible from the Dashboard customer record too โ€” same file, cross-branch.
