Attach an existing prescription
Upload a PDF or image of the patient's existing prescription to their profile.
Overview
If the patient walks in with a physical prescription from a doctor, upload the document to their profile from the iPad. The file, plus the metadata you enter (prescription number, prescriber, expiry, daily dosage), gets saved against the patient and is visible to every branch in the organization.
When to use it
- New patient bringing in a paper prescription from another clinic
- Existing patient renewing with a freshly-issued paper document
- Replacing an expired prescription with a new physical one

Video tutorial coming soon
- Select the patient on the active tab (or tap Select Patient if no one is attached yet).
- Open the patient profile and switch to the Prescription tab.
- Tap Add Prescription Details โ the prescription form opens.
- Tap the upload area and pick a PDF or photo from Files / Camera.
- Fill in the prescription details:
- Prescription No.
- Prescriber (pick from the dropdown, or add one inline)
- Prescription Expiry Date (must be within 30 days)
- Prescription Days
- Daily dosage (max 1 g/day)
- Tap Save โ the prescription is attached to the patient and available to all branches.
Tips & gotchas
- PDFs render cleaner than photos in the Dashboard and on receipts โ use PDF when possible.
- If the prescriber isn't in the dropdown, open Prescribers in the Dashboard and add them first, or use Generate prescription PDF which can create a prescriber inline.
- Prescriptions from other branches appear under Other Prescriptions โ don't upload a duplicate; move the existing one instead.
- Daily dosage above 1 g/day and expiry beyond 30 days are blocked by validation.
