Edit or delete a customer

Update customer details or remove a customer record.

Overview

Update any field on a customer record, or delete the record entirely. Deletion is typically reserved for OWNER.

When to use it

  • Correcting contact info (phone, email, address)
  • Updating loyalty opt-in status
  • Changing birthday or demographic fields
  • Removing a duplicate or test customer

How to use it

  1. Go to Customers.
  2. Find the customer (search by name/phone/email).
  3. Edit — row menu → Edit (or open the detail page and click Edit). Change fields → Save.
  4. Delete — row menu → Delete → confirm in the modal.

Tips & gotchas

  • Only OWNER can delete.
  • Editing applies immediately; existing sales linked to the customer retain their snapshot.
  • Deleting a customer with sales history may be blocked — check toast error if so.
  • Email validation applies on edit (must be valid if provided).
