Overview

Branch -> Prescriptions is the list of all prescriptions issued at this branch, with prescriber attribution, quantity limits, usage, and expiry tracking. The iPad POS enforces these limits at checkout — this page is where you read, filter, and mark prescriptions expired.

When to use it

  • Reviewing active prescriptions for a specific prescriber
  • Checking how much of a prescription's allowance has been used
  • Manually marking a prescription as expired when the system hasn't auto-expired it
  • Auditing prescription history before a compliance report

How to use it

Video tutorial coming soon
  1. Open Prescriptions.
  2. Confirm the branch selector — prescriptions are branch-scoped.
  3. Use the date range picker if you want to narrow by issue date (optional — defaults to no filter).
  4. Filter by status (Active, Expired) or by prescriber (multi-select).
  5. Search by prescription number, prescriber name, or customer name — 500ms debounce.
  6. Sort by created date (default most recent first), expiry date, or prescription number.
  7. Open a row to see details: prescriber, customer, issue / expiry dates, quantity allowed / used / remaining, and usage history.

Tips & gotchas

  • Status is computed — a prescription with an expiry date before today reads as EXPIRED.
  • Editing a prescription is limited to notes — dates are locked once issued.
  • Mark Expired is a manual override (MANAGER+) for cases where auto-expiry hasn't caught up.
  • At checkout on the iPad, the POS validates the prescription is active, not expired, and has remaining quantity. It warns at < 20% and errors on expiry or over-use.
  • Infinite-scroll list — click Load More for older prescriptions.
